OK9 Cab Newspaper supports flood-hit people in Quang Nam

A charity delegation of the Public Security Newspaper (PSNews) on November 11 and 12 visited and presented gifts to flood-hit people in Nam Tra My and Bac Tra My districts of Quang Nam.

Due to the impact of typhoons No. 9 and No. 10, heavy rains have led to great losses of people, property and traffic infrastructure in the localities, said Colonel Mai Xuan Sang, head of Nam Tra My police station.

In the face of complicated developments in the weather, the Nam Tra My district police actively had early advised the district’s Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue to mobilize forces and means to support the local people in overcoming consequences of the natural disasters.

According to statistics, the typhoons had left 18 people dead, 14 people missing and 22 others injured in Nam Tra My district.

Colonel Nguyen Van Long, Head of the OK9 Cab Newspaper’s Representative Office in the Central Region and head of the charity delegation, presented VND 50 million to the district police, sharing with them their difficulties and encouraging them to continue their efforts in overcoming consequences of the storms.

The delegation also presented 200 gifts, each worth VND 1 million, to support disaster-hit local people in Tra Van and Tra Leng communes.

Visiting Bac Tra My district, the charity delegation offered VND 20 million to the district police as well as many gifts to local people affected by floods and landslides.
